PRODUCTS TO BOOST IMMUNE AND IMPROVE RESISTANCE USING HERBS (VEGAKISS)

Vegakiss product is a state scientific project conducted by the Institute for Research and Treatment of Serious Diseases. The topic has been researched pre-clinically and pharmacologically at Hanoi Medical University, researching the chemistry of its ingredients. of Vegakiss (led by Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Ky, former principal of Hanoi University of Pharmacy), the results showed that there were 7 compounds: Plavonoid, Coumarin, Saponin, Tannin, Phytosterol, Polysaccharide, Anthranoid), according to the researchers' research. According to scientific research around the world, the above 7 active ingredients have the effect of inhibiting the growth of viruses including Sarcovi-2 and clinical trials show that Vegakiss has the effect of enhancing immunity and improving resistance for viruses. Immunocompromised patients due to diseases: Cancer, Virus infections (Hepatitis B, C, HIV), and other cancers. Over the past 10 years, the Institute has assigned to the hospital. New hope for treatment application Highly effective for cancer patients, especially patients with liver disease caused by hepatitis B and C viruses. In addition to the above effects, Vegakiss can also be used for normal people to improve immunity and strengthen the immune system. Resistance contributes to the prevention of diseases in general.

VEGAKISS - NEW HOPE FOR PATIENTS WITH VIRAL IMMUNODFICIENCY

Vegakiss is a product of the state-level independent scientific project "Research on drugs to support HIV/AIDS treatment from Dormoy camellia and Aloe vera" chaired by the Institute for Research and Treatment of Serious Diseases. topic according to Decision No. 2454/QD-BKHCN dated December 11, 2003.

Vegakiss has been researched pre-clinically: At the Department of Pharmacology at Hanoi Medical University, led by Professor Dr. Dao Van Phan - Former Head of the Department of Pharmacology as the Topic of the project.

            1. Acute toxicity of Vegakiss extract:

Calculate LD 50 according to the Litchfield-Wilcoxon method

-Maximum tolerated dose is 1.5g/kg mouse weight

-Minimum lethal dose: 2.0g/kg mouse weight

            -LD50 = 3.65 (3.20-4.16)g/kg.

            2.Semi-chronic toxicity of Vegakiss extract:

-The test sample of Vegakiss did not cause sub-chronic toxicity in rabbits when taken at a dose equivalent to the human dose (150mg/kg/day) and at a dose 3 times higher (450mg/kg/day) for 4 weeks.

-Based on the results of acute toxicity testing on mice and semi-chronic toxicity testing on rabbits, the dose for humans ranges from 20mg to 80mg/kg body weight per day.

3.Vegakiss has been researched for its pharmacological effects:

            3.1.Immune stimulating effect:

+ Causes immunodeficiency using 3 models:

            - Due to chemicals

            - Due to radiation

            - Due to highly virulent virus

On each model proceed with the following steps:

            - Exploratory research

            - Exploratory research to find optimal drug dosages

            - The model was conducted on many batches of animals to study the preventive and therapeutic effects and compare with standard drugs.

            * Evaluation criteria:

+ General specifications

+ Peripheral blood white blood cell count and formula

+ Relative weight of spleen and thymus.

Conclusion: With doses of 0.30g/kg and 0.15g/kg taken orally continuously for 5 days, Vegakiss is effective in improving immunodeficiency in white mice after injection of cyclophosphamide (shown through the following indicators: numbers assessing the general status of the immune system: relative spleen and thymus weights, white blood cell count in peripheral blood; cell-mediated immune response: dermoid reaction to OA antigen), not yet clearly shows the effect on humoral immunity (the ratio of rosette-forming spleen lymphocytes to sheep erythrocytes). The dose of 0.30g/kg has a clearer effect than the dose of 0.15g/kg.

3.2. Antibacterial effect against some strains of bacteria and fungi that cause opportunistic infections in HIV-infected patients.

- Conclude:

+ Antibacterial effect of Vegakiss: Vegakiss has antibacterial effect on all 4 international model bacterial strains Staphylococus aureus ATCC 29213, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 91158, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27855 and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922.

The minimum inhibitory concentration of Vegakiss for S.aureus ATCC 9213, B.subtilis ATCC 91158, P.aeruginosa ATCC 27855 is 0.2%, for E.coli ATCC 25922 is 20%.

On 2 Gr(+) bacteria (S.aureus, B.subtilis), the effect of Vegakiss at tested concentrations (from 0.05% to 20%) was inferior to 6µg penicillin and 10UI gentamicin. At the highest Vegakiss concentration of 20%, the sterile zone diameter for S.aureus was 52.77% compared to penicillin 6µg and 95.0% compared to gentamicin 10 UI; The diameter of the sterile zone for B.subtilis is 55.88% compared to penicillin 6µg and 73.08% compared to gentamicin 10UI.

On Gr(-) P.aeruginasa bacteria, at the highest Vegakiss concentration of 20%, the diameter of the sterile ring is 106.06% compared to gentamicin 10UI. At 2% Vegakiss concentration, the sterile ring diameter was 103.03% and at 0.2% the sterile ring diameter was 76.97% compared to gentamicin 10UI.

For E.coli, the effect of Vegakiss 20% is less than that of gentamicin 10UI, equal to 79.17%. Lower concentrations of Vegakiss were ineffective against E.coli

+ Antifungal effect of Vegakiss

Vegakiss has antifungal effects against Candida albicans. The minimum inhibitory concentration of Vegakiss against Candida albicans is 10%.

The antifungal effect of Vegakiss at all tested concentrations is inferior to ketoconazole 0.02%. At 10% Vegakiss concentration, the ring diameter without fungus was 50% that of 0.02% ketoconazole.

            4. Clinical trial results on HIV/AIDS patients at Military Hospital 103 according to the decision of the Ministry of Health:

Results on 30 HIV/AIDS patients treated with Vegakiss over a period of 3 months at a dose of 4-6 Vegakiss 500mg/24h tablets, compared with 30 HIV/AIDS patients treated with pharmaceutical chemicals showed:

4.1. Clinically:

+Vegakiss medicine is effective in alleviating clinical symptoms for immunocompromised HIV-infected patients and AIDS patients, helping patients eat and sleep well and gain weight. The patient did not develop new symptoms during treatment. The group of patients using pharmaceutical drugs also progressed well clinically, but during the process of taking the drug, patients were tired, had poor appetite, and had less weight gain than the group using Vegakiss (P<0.05).

4.2. Paraclinical: Vegakiss drug has the effect of increasing TCD4 index (P < 0.01) and reducing HIV concentration (73.3%). Regarding blood and urine test indexes, red blood cells of the patient group Chemotherapy use decreased, Vegakiss group was normal, platelets of both groups of patients were clearly increased, urine tests showed no abnormal changes.

            4.3. Regarding unwanted effects:

-The Vegakiss group experienced 36.7% of symptoms that were mild, transient, did not require treatment, and had a low frequency, such as: dizziness (16.7%), numbness in the hands (10%) and nausea (6.7). %).

-Medicinal chemistry group: encountered 73.3% of unwanted effects with many severe symptoms, high frequency and had to stop taking medication for adjustment, such as: fatigue (60%)

Rash (50%), insomnia (40%) nausea and vomiting (26.6%)
